Boac, Marinduque – The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) from the Marinduque State University (MarSU) is organizing a new season of Art Talks and Heart Convos starting this February 6, 2026 (Friday) in time for Art Fridates coinciding with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts weekly activities for the National Arts Month.

This time, with the BA Communication 3^rd year who are taking up Communication Elective 4: Creative Cultural Development (Comm Elect 4) this second semester 2025-26. They were divided into four groups, the first group corresponds to the Monserrat de Marinduque (Boac and Mogpog), the second group bears the name San Bernardo de Marinduque (Gasan and Buenavista), while the third group have taken San Juan de Marinduque (Sta Cruz and Torrijos) and the last group highlights Isla de Marinduque.

In general Comm Elect 4 have chosen moryonan as a topic in relation to Sustainable Development Goals, group 1 is going to start with the Moryonan sa Mogpog featuring the municipal tourism designate Jayson Mistal, the current president of the moryon group Maria Go, local sculptor and practitioner Gilbert Monsanto and the Samahan ng Moryon sa Mogpog by February 6 (Friday). Meanwhile, Moriones in Boac have interview key members of the one of the moryon groups Mistah: kwento sa likod ng panata.

The following week, group 2 would be shedding light with the new Moryon organization in Gasan Credencious and its presidents along with members on February 13, 2026 (Friday). In addition, Moryonan practice in Buenavista is about the origins, faith, and current status of the practice in their town.

By the third week, group 3 decided to go with the unique character of Santa Cruz emergent traditions with insights from tourist officer Yolanda Elegado and RR Rañeses also from I Love Santa Cruz Collective on February 20 (Friday). Likewise, the history of Moriones in Torrijos would be discussed by local historian and Torrijoseños administrator Reijohn Mendones.

Finally, group 4 have traced the roots of moryonan, faith behind the mask with Fr. Dionisio Santiago and the narrative of San Longhino by February 27, 2026 (Friday). To wrap up the weekly screening via social media accounts, local variation of moryonan in selected towns in Marinduque with references from Msgr Rolando Oliverio, tourism officer Rino Labay and cultural researcher Luigi Malangis.
