About Us

The Office of the University and Board Secretary serves as an essential administrative and governance support unit of Marinduque State University (MarSU), responsible for providing secretariat, documentation, records management, and coordination services to the University and the Board of Regents. The Office plays a vital role in ensuring the orderly conduct of meetings, proper documentation of proceedings, and efficient communication of official actions, resolutions, policies, and directives of the University administration and governing board.

The University and Board Secretary, appointed by the Board of Regents upon the recommendation of the University President, serves as the official Secretary of both the Board and the University. The Office is entrusted with maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and safekeeping of official records, proceedings, resolutions, and institutional documents in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and governance standards.

Guided by the principles of professionalism, accountability, efficiency, and integrity, the Office assists the University President and other University officials in the formulation, implementation, and dissemination of institutional policies, rules, regulations, and official communications approved by the Board of Regents and other governing councils of the University.

The Office likewise facilitates the preparation of meeting agendas, notices, minutes, reports, reference materials, memoranda, office orders, and official correspondence for the Board of Regents, Academic Council, Administrative Council, Management Committee, and other University meetings, conferences, and special engagements. It also ensures the proper dissemination and implementation of approved Board resolutions and serves as a liaison between the University and various government agencies, private organizations, and institutional stakeholders.

Core Functions

Board Secretariat Services

Provides secretariat support services to the Board of Regents including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, documentation, and records management of Board proceedings and resolutions.

University Secretariat Services

Facilitates administrative and secretariat functions for the University including coordination of meetings, preparation of official communications, and documentation support for institutional activities and governance functions.

Records and Documentation Management

Ensures the proper safekeeping, organization, maintenance, retrieval, and preservation of official records, resolutions, memoranda, office orders, and institutional documents.

Policy and Resolution Dissemination

Assists in the dissemination, communication, and implementation monitoring of approved policies, resolutions, directives, and official actions of the Board and University administration.

Administrative and Liaison Services

Coordinates with government agencies, partner institutions, and University offices regarding official communications, meetings, compliance requirements, and institutional concerns.
