About Us

The Security Services Unit of Marinduque State University (MarSU) is one of the essential support service units under the Administrative Services Division of the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance. The Unit is responsible for maintaining peace, order, safety, and security within the University premises through the implementation of responsive security measures, protective services, and emergency preparedness initiatives that safeguard students, employees, visitors, facilities, and institutional properties.

The Unit plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure learning and working environment conducive to academic excellence, productivity, and institutional development. Through the enforcement of University policies, security protocols, and safety procedures, the Unit helps maintain discipline, prevent security threats, and promote public safety within all campuses and University facilities.

Composed of trained security personnel and support staff, the Security Services Unit conducts campus monitoring, access control, incident response, safety inspections, and coordination with law enforcement and emergency response agencies when necessary. It also assists in traffic management, crowd control, emergency drills, disaster preparedness activities, and the security requirements of University programs, events, and official functions.

The Unit likewise promotes security awareness and preparedness among students, faculty members, employees, and stakeholders through safety orientations, information dissemination activities, and collaborative programs that strengthen the culture of safety and vigilance within the University community.

Guided by the principles of professionalism, integrity, discipline, vigilance, and public service, the Security Services Unit remains committed to protecting the welfare of the MarSU community and ensuring a secure, orderly, and resilient campus environment supportive of the University’s mission and goals.

Core Functions

Campus Security and Protection Services

Maintains peace, order, and security within University premises through regular monitoring, patrol operations, and implementation of security measures and protocols.

Access Control and Monitoring

Regulates entry and exit of individuals, vehicles, and visitors within University facilities to ensure safety and compliance with institutional security policies.

Incident Response and Emergency Assistance

Provides immediate response and coordination during emergencies, security incidents, accidents, and other situations requiring protective and safety interventions.

Traffic and Crowd Management

Assists in traffic regulation, parking management, and crowd control during University activities, ceremonies, and institutional events.

Safety Inspection and Monitoring

Conducts inspections and monitoring activities to identify potential safety risks, hazards, and security concerns within University facilities and surroundings.

Disaster Preparedness and Coordination

Supports disaster preparedness initiatives, emergency drills, and coordination with law enforcement and emergency response agencies to strengthen campus resilience and public safety.

Security Awareness and Information Dissemination

Promotes safety consciousness, vigilance, and security awareness through orientations, advisories, and information campaigns for students, employees, and stakeholders.
