Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — The Marinduque State University Gymnasium became the vibrant venue for the General Orientation Program, a landmark gathering that officially welcomed the freshmen of Academic Year 2026–2027 on July 27, 2026.

The program began with a solemn opening prayer led by Ms. Maria Victoria Miciano, Head of Multi-Faith Services, which set a tone of gratitude and reflection for the day. This was followed by the welcome remarks of Campus Director Assoc. Prof. Julie P. Rodelas, who warmly greeted the freshmen and emphasized MarSU’s mission of excellence, inclusivity, and service. A message of support was then delivered by VPAA Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos, Jr. and VPSAS Dr. Verna Liza L. Capina, underscoring the university’s commitment to academic advancement and holistic student development.

The program continued with the Introduction of University Officials and Unit Heads by Mr. Joseph Balatico, giving students a clear view of the leadership team guiding their journey, followed by Sentro’s presentation of Colleges and Programs, which oriented the freshmen on the diverse academic pathways available at MarSU. The Introduction of Student Affairs and Services highlighted the support systems designed to ensure student welfare, engagement, and success.

Another part of the event was the Launching of the MarSU Freshmen Digital Toolkit presented by Ms. Desiree Anne M. Sto. Domingo, a flagship innovation empowering students with accessible, smart, and connected resources for campus life. Adding excitement, Mr. Kurt Russel Regalado, SSC President, led the MarSU Campus Quest, an interactive activity that welcomed freshmen into the vibrant culture and traditions of the university.

The orientation also featured important announcements, including updates on the National Service Training Program from NSTP Director Assoc. Prof. Marvin P. Plata, the Aguhon: Sentro Call for Application and Screening announced by Mr. Laurence Soto of Sentro, and health and wellness reminders from Mr. John Ryan Leano of the Health Services Unit. Attendance was also noted from Ms. Norilie Dela Cruz, further affirming the collaborative spirit of the event.

With faith, leadership, innovation, and student spirit, the journey of the freshmen officially begins.
