Intramuros, Manila, Philippines — Marinduque State University (MarSU) actively advanced its internationalization agenda by joining the Building Bridges in Higher Education: Canada–Philippines Partnership Forum on March 2, 2026, at The Bayleaf Intramuros, Manila.
Representing MarSU at the forum were President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta and Asst. Prof. Jholey Rose Leaño-Lancion, Director of the International Relations Office, who actively engaged in the discussions on strengthening academic linkages and building sustainable collaborations between institutions in Canada and the Philippines.
The forum, co-hosted by the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines, the Alberta Bureau for International Education, and the Canadian Bureau for International Education, brings together Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to strengthen internationalization efforts, expand partnership development, and deepen Canada–Philippines higher education linkages.
Throughout the day, education leaders and institutional representatives discuss key priorities, including transnational education, research collaboration, innovation ecosystems, digital microcredentials, and workforce development. The engagement highlights shared goals of advancing academic excellence and building globally connected institutions.
In the afternoon, selected Canadian and Philippine institutions hold Business-to-Business (B2B) partnership meetings to explore concrete areas for collaboration. These meetings open opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, quality assurance benchmarking, and capacity-building programs.
