Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — The College of Teacher Education (CTE) and Human Resource Management and Development Division (HRMDD) of Marinduque State University proudly led the Flag Raising Ceremony on September 1, 2026, in celebration of the 126th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service, carrying the theme “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing para sa Bayan.”
The program opened with Galaw Serbisyo: Zumba, energizing participants before the solemn Doxology, the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the Marinduque March, and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine Flag led by CoEdSO President Lovely Driza.
Anthon Jake Comedia, an officer of the Social Science Society, delivered the Bagong Pilipinas Pledge, followed by the Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan, led by Dr. Willa Mae Paredes together with the College of Teacher Education faculty.
An official message from University President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta was conveyed by Atty. Crispin Francis M. Jandusay, Vice President for Administration, Finance, and Economic Enterprise, underscoring integrity, excellence, and compassion as the hallmarks of public service.
The ceremony was enriched with intermission performances: “Parine sa MarSU” by the Culture and Arts Unit and a special number by Jastin Lehyl Llasos.
Ms. Noelle Ann G. Rosales, Head of the Learning and Development Section, introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Romelo R. Menorca, Senior HRS Caretaker of the Civil Service Commission Field Office Marinduque. In his inspirational message, Mr. Menorca highlighted the role of every civil servant as a modern-day hero, embodying heart, honor, and skill in service to the nation.
The program also featured the traditional Putong for September celebrants, followed by the rousing performance of the MarSU Hymn by the MarSU Brass Band, which reinforced the spirit of unity and institutional pride. The celebration ended on a warm and festive note with sopas and ice cream served to participants, symbolizing shared joy, community spirit, and the sweetness of service.
