Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducted its Monitoring and Evaluation of the Graduate Teacher Education Program at Marinduque State University (MarSU), held at the Admin Lounge on September 3, 2026.
The activity opened with a solemn prayer led by Assoc. Prof. Liza Marie Manoos-Pacia, followed by welcome remarks from Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos Jr., who emphasized that graduate programs should be the forefront of the colleges in the university, serving as a benchmark of academic excellence and leadership.
An official message from University President Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta was delivered by Vice President for Administration, Finance, and Economic Enterprise Atty. Crispin Francis M. Jandusay, who underscored that MarSU must produce teachers who are leaders, researchers, and innovators capable of addressing present challenges and guiding students toward success. Dean of the Graduate School Dr. Julieta Q. Nabos then presented the MarSU team, highlighting the collaborative efforts of faculty and administrators in sustaining program quality.
The program also featured a cultural interlude from Culture andArts Unit with the rendition of the traditional Putong, symbolizing MarSU’s heritage and hospitality. The evaluation proper followed, with the CHED team engaging in thorough document reviews, academic assessments, and discussions with university officials. A visit to MarSU’s facilities showcased infrastructure supporting graduate education, and the day concluded with the presentation of initial findings, offering valuable insights and recommendations for program enhancement.
The CHED evaluation team was composed of Dr. Lino C. Reynoso, Technical Panel for Graduate Teacher Education; Dr. April Bagon-Faeldan, RQAT Member for Teacher Education; Dr. Rudy James D. Tabasa, RQAT Member for Teacher Education; and Ms. Lovelyn L. Chen, Education Supervisor II. Their presence and expertise reaffirmed CHED’s mission to uphold academic standards, while MarSU demonstrated its dedication to delivering quality graduate education responsive to national and global needs.
