Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — Marinduque State University continues to advance meaningful international engagement by bringing global learning opportunities closer to its students through its collaboration with Gimcheon University, South Korea, and the International Youth Fellowship.

On October 7, 2026, MarSU hosted the 2026 IMEI Mind Education Program, a one-day learning experience centered on mindset, emotional well-being, character development, resilience, responsible decision-making, healthy relationships, and life skills.

The engagement was spearheaded by the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS), headed by its Dean, Assoc. Prof. Marvin P. Plata, and the External Relations and Partnerships Division, in collaboration with the International Youth Fellowship Philippines, the International Mind Education Institute (IMEI), and Gimcheon University, South Korea.

The program provided MarSU students with opportunities to engage in lectures, interactive discussions, experiential activities, reflection, and intercultural learning—reinforcing the University’s commitment to education that develops the whole person.

More than an academic activity, the engagement created a space for students to develop self-awareness, emotional well-being, resilience, healthy relationships, responsible decision-making, leadership, intercultural understanding, and a spirit of service. These outcomes contribute to MarSU’s continuing pursuit of quality and holistic education, while promoting student health and wellness and strengthening partnerships that support sustainable development.

A significant highlight of the engagement was the strong support of MarSU President Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta, the University’s champion of internationalization. His continued support for global partnerships provides avenues for MarSU students to connect with international institutions, experience diverse perspectives, and participate in transformative learning opportunities. President Zulueta delivered Inspirational Remarks, emphasizing the importance of initiatives that complement academic excellence with character formation, personal development, global awareness, and well-being.
The activity also featured Rev. Dr. Abraham Nam, President of IYF Philippines and Vice President for External Affairs of Gimcheon University, and Rev. Oh Jeong Hee, Director of IYF Mokpo, South Korea, who facilitated the Mind Education sessions. The engagement further demonstrates the value of strong collaboration among MarSU’s academic units, international partners, and local stakeholders.

This initiative reflects MarSU’s vision of internationalization as purposeful, inclusive, and transformative—where partnerships do not merely connect institutions, but create meaningful experiences that contribute to the well-being, competence, character, and global citizenship of learners.

As MarSU continues to build bridges with institutions and organizations beyond the Philippines, the University remains committed to bringing the world closer to Marinduque and empowering its students to become resilient, compassionate, globally minded, and socially responsible individuals.
