Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — The College of Engineering of Marinduque State University (MarSU) spearheaded the flag raising ceremony held on September 7, 2026, underscoring the values of service, recognition, and collective achievement.
University President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta commended the successful activities held last week and provided updates on upcoming events. Ms. Erma E. Reyes, SAO and HRMDD Head, reminded faculty and staff of the lined up activities for the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Month, including the awarding ceremony for Prof. Zulueta as regional qualifier for the CSC Gawad Pagasa, nominations for Dangal ng MarSU, and the celebration of Family Day.
On the other hand, Guest of Honor Engr. Willer A. Dayahan Sr., 2025 Dangal ng MarSU Awardee, highlighted that true distinction is not measured solely by awards or recognition, but by the service rendered to people and the meaningful changes brought to their lives. His message underscored the essence of leadership and professional achievement as instruments of community transformation.
Additionally, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos closed the ceremony with reminders and a call for continuous support to the administration, emphasizing unity and shared responsibility in advancing MarSU’s goals. The ceremony also recognized Mr. Edilberto Aguirre with a Certificate of Recognition for his dedicated service to MarSU as he transitions to another agency within the province. Additionally, Mr. Arwin Jones Epa of the COED Lab School proudly announced the students who excelled in the recent Municipal Meet, bringing honor to the university.
To add a touch of artistry to the program, Mr. Tobi B. Napilot, a second‑year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering student, performed a saxophone piece as an intermission number, showcasing the musical talents of MarSU students. Today’s flag raising ceremony not only celebrated accomplishments but also reaffirmed MarSU’s enduring commitment to service, excellence, and community engagement.
