Romblon, Philippines —  Marinduque State University, representing Marinduque province, proudly emerged as Champion in the HANDA MIMAROPA Resilience Innovation Challenge 2026 during the MIMAROPA Resilience Innovation Championship, held as part of the DOST Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) 2026.
Carrying the banner of innovation and resilience, Team RESQ 2.0 from the College of Information and Computing Sciences showcased their winning entry — Automated Grid for Alert Preparedness (AGAP) System). The team is composed of Genroj Louise J. Laguna, Jessica Niduaza, and Andrea L. Calalang, under the supervision of Mr. Christopher J. Rebistual, and accompanied in the event by Ms. Doreena Joy C. Borja.
The awarding ceremony was held on August 17, 2026 at La Marietta Events Place in Romblon, with the theme “Science, Technology & Digital Innovation: Driving Food Security, Sustainable Energy & National Resilience.”
This victory was made possible through the steadfast leadership of University President Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta and the support of College of Information and Computing Sciences Dean Dr. Ronjie Mar L. Malinao, whose guidance continues to inspire MarSU students to excel in innovation and resilience.
MarSU’s triumph not only highlights the university’s excellence in science and technology but also underscores Marinduque’s growing role in championing resilience and sustainable innovation across the MIMAROPA region and the nation.
