Marinduque, Philippines — Marinduque State University (MarSU) proudly announces its inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, securing a place in the 1501+ bracket among 1,603 institutions worldwide.

Likewise, the Quality Assurance Office highlighted the significant improvements compared to its debut in 2025. The improved SDG Ratings include:

SDG 1 No Poverty: from 1001+ to 801+
SDG 2 Zero Hunger: from 801+ to 601+
SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being: from 1001–1500 to 1001+
SDG 4 Quality Education: from 1501+ to 1001+
SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth: from 1001+ to 801–1000
SDG 16 Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: from 1001+ to 801+
SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals: from 1501+ to 1001–1500
MarSU expanded its coverage to 12 out of 17 SDGs, debuting in five additional areas:
SDG 5 Gender Equality: 601–800
SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation: 601+
SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy: 801+
SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities: 801+
SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities: 601–800

This milestone reflects MarSU’s steadfast commitment to sustainability and its growing visibility in the global higher education landscape. The recognition underscores the university’s dedication to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through academic innovation, community engagement, and institutional resilience.

Under the visionary leadership of University President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta, MarSU continues to strengthen its sustainability agenda, embedding responsible practices across teaching, research, and extension services. The Quality Assurance Office, led by Asso. Prof. Raoul J. Magcamit, has been instrumental in ensuring that MarSU’s initiatives meet international standards, reinforcing the university’s pursuit of excellence and accountability.

The award was formally received by Asso. Prof. Lenie P. Zulueta, during the Global Sustainable Development Congress, representing the university in this global recognition and affirming MarSU’s collective commitment to sustainability-driven education and institutional progress.
