Torrijos, Marinduque, Philippines — Led by the Local Government of Torrijos through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, the MarSU Gender and Development Office extends its advocacy to build safe and inclusive communities.
With the expertise of Dr. Keam Eric Malabayabas, Asst. Prof. Jayceron Monteagudo and Ms. Maria Claudia S. Gonzales, insightful sessions on the Safe Spaces Act and Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children were provided among 271 4Ps beneficiaries (27 male and 243 female) on March 6, 11 and 13 in selected barangays.
Participants learned how to identify and report gender-based sexual harassment in streets, public spaces, and online. Indeed, education is the first step toward a harassment-free environment.
Together, let’s make every space a safe space!
